G'Day Math!

James Tanton believes that the ultimate goal of the mathematics curriculum is to teach self-reliant thinking, critical questioning and the confidence to synthesize ideas and to re-evaluate them. The content of any curriculum, of course, is important but the path through it should be uncluttered.

Varve Studios designed G'Day Math! as a platform that makes it easy to learn mathematics for visitors and easy for the author to create new course content. The website is fully responsive so learning can happen on any device. Features include beautifully rendered math symbols, responsive video, and a customized dashboard for authoring new course content and resources.

Surprisingly, even to this day, hosting mathematics on the web is not an easy exercise – both in the task of transcribing symbols and equations onto the web, and in the challenge of making those formulas appear natural and pleasing to the eye with on-screen text. Mark Hilverda created a stunningly beautiful platform to develop and post –with absolute ease– online mathematics resources for my students and professional development work with educators. G'Day Math! is by far the most intuitive and natural mathematics web arena I have worked with, and Mark created and tailored it just for me and my purposes. It is not only aesthetically beautiful, but also functionally beautiful! Satisfaction is at the highest end of the scale as can be.
