Overview

I am often asked about what type of equipment I use or what style of photography I produce. I approach each photo session with compositional ideas unique to that session. The equipment is selected around the needs of the ideas for each session rather than limiting ideas to equipment. In some instances natural daylight is used, in others flashes, and sometimes a combination of multiple lighting elements. Artistic photo sessions often lend themselves to creative expressions that may be much different from a documentary style of photography. As a result, pre-planning and story-boarding often play a large role in my photography regardless of the style being used. Portrait sessions usually also contain opportunities for natural spontaneity, which I especially enjoy capturing as I find this is when personality really shines.

Portrait

Expect fun, light-hearted sessions at locations of your choice. Prior to the session we'll talk about you, your family, or your business. This enables an understanding of your interests and allows your personality to be complemented in the photos. For family and child photo sessions I recommend informal settings where your relaxed dynamics can really be expressed.

Similarly, for business settings less traditional photos that show character are increasingly popular. However, I often capture requested "headshot" business photos that focus on you and your company and remove the formal barrier that staged photos can often produce.

Event

You often invest a lot of work and effort into family and business events...go beyond snapshots and have some memorable, professional images to remember the good times. Complete event packages are available for everything from casual birthday parties to full formal business events.

Product

In today's marketplace your product is your marketing. I combine my marketing experience with photographic design to deliver images that not only communicate your products but work to build long-term branding relationships with your clients.

Historical / Heritage

Historical and archaeological sites continue to grow in importance around the globe. Aside from sustainable local economic benefits often generated by tourism, many of the locations and artifacts excavated from these sites connect us to our past. Preserving and communicating the past with images is especially vital for publications and online reference communities. A formal background in art and archaeology is integrated with both creative imaging and color-calibrated, reference photographic services.

Portrait

On-location portrait session package: $225

Includes the following:

• Pre-Session: To learn your personality, interests and any possible preferences. Allows for characteristics unique to you, your family, or organization to be integrated into your photos.
• On-location: Location of your choice, whether it is at home (inside/outside or both), organization, or a unique outdoor location (additional fees if distance traveled is greater than 50km). We supply and setup any needed studio lighting and related equipment.
• Post-processing: Up to 25 images will be professionally edited and ready for printing.
• Online Gallery: Private online gallery for you to review images from your session.
• DVD: Containing the images from your photo session in high resolution (suitable for printing) and lower resolution for easy use online, whether sharing via e-mail, facebook, or other online communitites.
• One fee and the images are yours. No additional fees for image use. Unlike many photographers, you are free to print any images, share, or distribute them as desired without incurring any additional cost beyond the session fee.

Coaching & Training

One-to-one training and coaching: $85/hr.

My passion and enthusiasm for photography extends into my personalized one-to-one training and coaching services. Experience comes with practice and understanding. If you are new to photography and related digital post-processing, your learning can be accelerated with dedicated hands-on coaching and instruction.

These sessions are tailored to your goals and skill levels. I design customized sessions to maximize your learning and skill development in the areas that interest you. Whether you are new to photography and learning the essentials of operating a DSLR, understanding aperature and shutter speed, exploring compositional approaches or ready to tackle off-camera lighting techniques and accelerated digital post-processing I can help you develop the skills you need.
